What is a Haunt?
There are many different parts of a Haunt. Here are some useful terms for what goes on during a Haunt!
The Haunt
The "Haunt" is the term for the overall attraction. It is the main event, the whole enchilada. Everything
else contributes to the success of the Haunt.
The Guest
This is the person we are trying to scare. We are very careful to ensure that the Guest emerges from the Haunt
alive, safe, and sound...
(But we do our very best to scare the bejeezum out of 'em in the process!!!)
Scares
A "scare" is anything that makes the guest jump, scream, faint, etc... A shadow jumping out from behind a door,
a vampire looming in for the kill, a loud noise... These are all scares.
The Set
The set is the place where the scare happens. Sometimes the set is simply a stretch of hallway, where the guest
encounters a monster. Other times it's a place specifically designed to convey a theme, like a Mad Scientist's Laboratory.
Talent
The Talent is anyone who directly interacts with the Guests with the intention of scaring them. Werewolves, zombies,
space aliens, vampires, these are all examples of Talent.
Handlers
Handlers are the people who keep an eye on the Talent. Sometimes the costumes worn by the Talent limit their visability,
and it is the handler's job to make sure that the Talent doesn't trip over anything, bump into walls, catch fire, or otherwise
get into trouble.
The handler also makes sure that the Talent doesn't get too enthusiastic while frightening guests.
In the unlikely event of an emergency, the handler is responsible for helping the Talent evacuate the Set.
